Some of you might already know that I suffer from sinus problems. Although I am currently on medication for this medical condition, I still need to avoid certain things that can trigger off a sinus attack including seafood (which I love!), cat fur or dust. Let me tell you that it is not a pretty sight whenever I get one of my attacks! My eyes get all puffy and watery, my nose turns red and I end up sneezing non-stop, for hours on end! I can go through an entire box of tissue in less than an hour and this will continue for several days sometimes.
Living with 3 adorable cats however means constantly ensuring a clean and fur-free environment. I try to vacuum as often as possible but that alone is insufficient as I still do get the occasional sinus attack. My cats also have their own cosy homes, which I keep clean. However, they still need to come out ever so often to stretch their legs and run around for several hours during the day and night. That is when they decide to run wild and chase each other, running around the condo, climbing all over our furniture and wrestling each other… all the while leaving trails of fur behind them!

And lil' Phoebe loves exploring every nook and cranny!As much as I love my cats, I still need to find a way to keep my sinus attacks at bay. The thought of keeping my cats locked up in their homes 24/7 to avoid the unhealthy dust bunnies they cause is simply unbearable, which is why I have decided to get a Hunter Humidifier for our home instead. A Hunter Humidifier will increase the indoor air quality by removing allergens and dust particles from my home. This in turn will definitely help deter my sinus attacks! I hope that investing in a Hunter Humidifier will ensure my kitties the continued freedom to roam around freely while their Master gets to enjoy a cleaner, healthier and sinus-free environment!

Wow Marzie...I didn't know u had sinus problems...me too! I hope ur humidifier helps. Maybe a good air cleaner (an air ionizer) could help too! Phoebe is looking as cute as ever!!!!!!hehehe:)
That must be so tough to have cats you love which can trigger sinus problems for yourself.
When my daughter was young she had similar problems and we used a air purifier. It was actually a rather large contraption, but it worked really well. Unfortunatly it has been long enough I cannot remember a brand name to help you out.
Marzie, our humidifier broke down recently. Send it for repair still under warranty. The service house charged us S$15 for the spoilt adaptor & din even check if we wanna go ahead with the change or not. I'm gg down tmr to see what I can demand from him... very angry lah !! :(
I do la Bobby, and it gets kinda bad sometimes. Seriously gonna get myself a humidifier and perhaps the ionizer u suggested!

Oh gosh...I'm exactly like that too! In fact, I'm having an attack right this minute and I've been sneezing the whole day! That's why I can't have cats. I wonder how you do it! Hehehe...

Must be really difficult to have a sinus problem and cats shedding all over the place...to avoid breathing in all that fur you should probably get a Darth Vader type mask! LOL Darth Mariuca you'll be called hehehe

Hey Syura! Well, I try to avoid breathing in the cat fur whenever I clean the house, and I also have my pills. Actifed is da best so far but it really makes u drowsy. :):):)
Nessa! You're so lucky la don have allergies. My problem dah lama dah but it's still under reasonable control. Even before I was married I had cats. At one point I had like 10 kittens living in my room, it was a cat farm I tell you ha ha ha!! :):):)
Oh yeah Chubbs looks so cute in his SWAT tee! We got the Liverpool tee for Phoebe, only had in her size and she looks adorable in it too! :)
Hey actually I am using the face mask when I clean up my house, nowadays la. It does help and I can vacuum and clean the litter box without getting a sinus attack. The humidifier will be an extra precaution to avoid the sneeze attack, hate it when that happens. Tiring you know to be sneezing non stop! :(

You know Marzie, ever since the first day I've been visiting your blog and everytime you post pictures of your cats, they always seem to be in some lazy, sleepy, comfy pose. Don't they do anything else except sleep? LOL!

why don't u try... Homeopathy medication.... if will surely work...
a simple indian home medication is to take 5 pcs(tooth) of garlic early in the morning....bite & chew it well... if u feel tht there will be a harsh smell.
u can.... fry them a bit with a little bit of oil & have it in empty stomach...
the formation of sinus will get curbed....
also try to eat... rose petals....(in india u get some thing called as gulkandh)....
made of rose petals..
eating 2 spoon per day...
will also be effective....
try if u can get them in u'r nearly indian neighbourhood....
try this for atleast a fort night...
& see the difference....
this should not be had.... when u'r having sinus..
but u have to take it as a precautionery measure & it will surely work out...

My husband has chronic sinus and a little cough as well. If he doesn't have enough sleep or rest, it gets worse.

Actually, the humidifier is not to remove fur. If u read my post properly, you'd see that my intent is to remove the dust particles and allergens also contributed by my cats,that's what I meant. ;)

u can also try one of this...
have a nilgiri oil(malaysian).... put few drops in not boling water tht u'r going to use for bath.....
if possible take few breath's of the steam....
so tht the sinus clog will get removed.
aslo if u take bath with tht water..
u will feel better...

You can try this to healing your sinus, Just take depth breath, hold your breath till your lounge warm (around 7-10 second). than release your breath trought your mouth. Do this as much you want.

Yay LJ is here today!! LJ, actifed doesn make u feel dehydrated but it makes u very drowsy, that's why I'm to take it at night only. I tell u, the effect is immediate...you can't help but nod off. I once took it before watching a midnight movie at the cinema and I had the most difficult time staying awake to watch the movie...slept halfway through lol....

I took Zyterc jer GP.. yesterday my nose itched like mad..I scratched sampai nak rak I tell you...I took one tablet and hilang gatal semua..lolz
